This church is Romanesque in style with popular features. The walls are of masonry and its façade, simple but elegant, has a large belfry which in turn serves as a bell tower. Cornices are curved on the sides and rest on a simple lintel door. At the top we can observe a Romanesque round arch window with an attached column. This temple also has paintings dating from the XVI century that represent the final judgment. The Church of Santiago de Rubiás was the meeting point of the “parliament” of the Couto Mixto and it also was the place where the ark that contained the documents of this.
